The word "silter", used still nowadays by the inhabitants of the Taleggio Valley, is a very old dialect expression meaning a small cellar. Once every house in the valley had its own “silter” and very often the place where to build a house and even its architecture depended on the “silter”.

The SILTER OF THE GUELPHS opened by the dairy ARNOLDI VALTALEGGIO is the first small cellar in the Taleggio Valley. It is a sort of small museum dedicated to the dairy tradition and to the farmers’ way of life where to taste and buy cheeses of the Taleggio Valley.
